Starting the Blog
This is the first post for the Rabbit Heart blog.
I want this space to be a little different from the news section. News is for releases, announcements, and important updates. The blog can be slower and more flexible: development notes, behind-the-scenes thoughts, art and technical experiments, and things I want to write down while working.
May 20
Section titled “May 20”Right now I am working on a Pickelhaube helmet for Aren. It is still a work in progress, but I am planning to make it as a MetaHuman-compatible marketplace asset, so this will be my first step into creating assets specifically for MetaHumans.

After that, I would like to work on a bycocket hat. Both of these ideas came from a YouTube comment by mandolorian9893. I liked the suggestions, so I decided to try making them.
Current Character Plans
Section titled “Current Character Plans”There are still a few things I planned near the start of the year that I have not fully started yet:
- Shenya2 casual outfits: ✅ Done
- Stylized female police officer: HIGH PRIORITY
- Stylized teen character, Charles
- Stylized male character, possibly with a modern outfit: I might drop this
I also want to make more YouTube tutorials. I remember promising to create a KawaiiPhysics tutorial last year, but I never got around to it. I also have ideas for other video tutorials, such as how to set up Unreal Chaos Cloth.
I would also like to update RIn.Rename and do more tooling work, but for now my priority is characters. It is already halfway through the year, and I have not created as many characters as I wanted.
Oh, I also haven’t forgotten about the Bards and Holy Knight/Paladin type characters.
ALS Refactored Tutorial
Section titled “ALS Refactored Tutorial”I was also planning to create a video tutorial about using ALS Refactored with my characters. I even used AI to help me write a guide, which you can find here:
However, I ran into a problem. The solution I used was not correct: the left hand holding the weapon swims around while the character runs. I have not figured out the proper fix yet, so I decided to pause the video tutorial idea for now.
Hopefully I can come back to it later, once I understand the setup better.
